Dimension I

Community pharmacies can be essential stakeholders in the health system regarding population screening, according to the surrounding community’s needs and in collaboration with other health services. Said actions can include interventions such as colorectal cancer screening and dermatological screenings. Rapid referral should be made available via “direct referral lines” to the appropriate health services, enabling and facilitating early diagnosis. Pharmacies stand out as a point of access for most of the population, helping reduce inequalities in healthcare access.1-3
